A busy family attorney and her two children needed more livable space. She wanted a study, a larger and more organized kitchen, a formal dining room and a separate master suite with a spa-like bath, while the kids needed larger bedrooms and an informal living/play area.

We planned a complete overhaul of the existing house plus a dining and master suite addition. We also redesigned the outdoor deck to give it more of a connection with the living, kitchen and dining areas and effectively increase her entertaining space. Although she did not want a huge kitchen, she needed substantial cabinet/pantry storage and counter space for eating, serving and working. We also carved out a new laundry room, a fun bathroom for the kids and added special touches such as window seats. In the formal living area, we resurfaced the old brick fireplace to tie together new finishes throughout the adjacent areas. Finally, we coffered ceilings above the formal living seating area, the main entry and the dining area to add intimacy without sacrificing openness.
